[ARCHIVED] Ridge Road Closed for Windfarm Construction

*RELEASE FROM WANZEK

 Dear Ford County Resident,

As part of the Iron Star Wind Project, we will be improving the span of Ridge Road  between HWY-283 and 108th Road to support the additional traffic that our construction project will require. We realize that this road improvement will present an inconvenience and we are doing our best to limit this. We are planning to close Ridge Road between 108th and 110th on Friday 11/06/2020, this closure will be to all but our construction vehicles as we will be working on both sides of Ridge Road simultaneously. This span will continue to be closed through Monday morning to allow the cement being added to the roadway to properly cure. Our plan on Saturday 11/07/2020 is to work on one side of Ridge Road between 110th Road and HWY-283 at a time to allow for homeowners to be able to enter and leave this area. We will have barricades on the west side of the intersection of HWY-283 and Ridge Road that you will be able to drive around, but will state that the road is closed. The span of Ridge Road between HWY-283 and 108th Road will stay closed through Monday morning 11/09/2020 to allow for the cement to cure. We will start spreading a cover material similar to what is currently on Ridge Road, on Monday morning and once this is complete you will be able to drive on Ridge road as normal. The cement we will be using is a powdered cement and is spread on the road via a large spreader truck directly to the road surface. Once placed on the road, this powder is mixed into the road surface and then is immediately packed and rolled. There may be some dust from the spreading activity, but should be minimal. Out of an abundance of caution, we are requesting that you give this activity plenty of space so as not to breathe this dust. This will be a dry cement and there will not be any harm to your vehicle when you have to drive on it. We are requesting that only 1 ton and below vehicles be the only traffic on Ridge Road while it cures.
