We are a KPERS employer for retirement packages Our benefit package includes free preventative and urgent care office visits at our employer sponsored medical clinic. The health insurance plan includes free preventative dental, vision and vision hardware along with 2 deductible choices, prescriptions and traditional major dental coverage as well. Paid holidays, PTO, funeral leave and a large suite of supplemental benefits. 


Ford County offers the following benefits for all full time (40 hour/ week minimum) employees:

Ten paid holidays (11 paid days total)

Paid Time Off & Extended Illness 

PTO plus an extended illness bank with leave accruing on the first day and available to take on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. This equals 4 weeks of leave annually your first year with the ability to build to 7 weeks with longevity.

What is the employee clinic?

The mission of the Ford County Employee Clinic, referred to as “Care to Thrive” is to keep the eligible members healthy and provide to them quality and free primary and urgent care when they are ill, whether the illness has developed at home or at work.

Who is eligible?

Only employees and family members enrolled in the Ford County’s Healthcare Insurance Plan.

New Directions Behavioral Health (Employee Assistance Program)

The EAP is designed to help employees and families deal with the wide range of personal problems that may disrupt lives and affect job performance. We recognize that almost any human problem can be successfully resolved with the right kind of help. This applies whether the problem involves your marriage, family, parenting, workplace, stress, depression, drug or alcohol, finances or any other concerns.

The EAP is confidential and provided to you and your immediate family at no cost.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you enroll in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP) option 2, you may be eligible to open a Health Savings Account (HSA) through a bank of your choice. With an HSA, you can deposit money into your account on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions and use the HSA money to pay for eligible medical, dental and vision expenses.

Ford County will match your HSA contributions up to $600 for an individual and $1200 for dependent coverage!

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) lets employees take home a larger paycheck by reducing their taxable income. Employees enrolled contribute tax-free dollars into an account that can be used throughout the year on qualified medical, dental and vision or qualified dependent care expenses — reducing out-of-pocket costs.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas

County offers two health plan options.  This includes life, medical, vision, dental, and a prescription card.

Eaglemed/Airmed Care Network

Ford County is offering the EagleMed/AirMedCare Network’s membership program at a discounted rate to our employees.

Supplemental Options Include:
Aflac, Allstate, Vision Care Direct., IdentityShield &
